With the PGA tour over we at last see some long overdue quality players on the european tour. This event is played over 3 courses in scotland. st andrews, carnoustie & kingbarns with the final round for those who make the cut played at st andrews.

My view on this event is that a player from the ‘top end’ of the market will win this event & he will be South African or English! so which one??

My top pick is (unfortunately for some, who dont like backing favs) is the bookies fav – Brandon Grace IMO the best player in the field & worthy fav for a good reason. Having gone so close to winning a major on a few occasions now & the only reason i dont think he will ever win 1 is just purely down to the ‘elite’ players above him. This field is a lot weaker than a major & i think this rates as a great chance for a player who generally plays good links golf & likes scotland having won here before to go very close again. ranked 3rd in average strokes, 12th in GIR & 14th in putts per GIR.
