GOLF: Quickens Loans National – 2 bets

Quickens Loans National
Congressional CC, Maryland

MARC LEISHMAN – 1pt e/w @ 28/1
Leishman is in great for, played well in the US Open and this course should be right up his street. He hits it long and generally keeps it in play so should go well if he’s over his US Open exertions.

BILLY HURLEY III – 0.5 pst e/w @ 200/1
This one is a bit from left-field but looks worth a play at a massive price. Hurley is not a massively long hitter but he is another that keeps it in play and he seems to love it here. He is a local lad and he has tied for 8th and 4th on his last 2 visits. He has yet to register a win on the PGA Tour but doesn’t seem the sort to get flustered so if he can get in contention he should give it a good go. Worth a small punt at 200/1 for a man with such solid course form.

GOLF: Australian PGA selections – starts 3/12 — LOST!

We had another return last week with Rod Pampling (advised at 80/1) shooting a course record to finish 4th and the place money. This takes profit for 2015 up to +381.61 points.

We are concentrating on the Australian PGA Championship this week where we have hopefully found a little e/w value again.

Australian PGA Championship
RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast – 3rd to 6th December

This is the 3rd time this event has been held at the Royal Pines Resort, although the course has undergone some remodelling in the last couple of years. The fairways are fairly tight and there is a fair bit of water in play so we will be looking for accurate driving and iron play, which is generally a successful mix! There is expected to be some fairly strong winds about also.

Brett Rumford – 1 point E/W @ 20/1 (Stan James)
Finished 8th last week in the Australian Open and this week’s field doesn’t look quite as strong. Conditions should suit, especially if the forecast winds do arrive and he looks a solid e/w bet.

Greg Chalmers – 1 point e/w @ 50/1 (Sportingbet, Stan James)
He hasn’t been in the greatest of form but he usually saves his best for this, having won twice already. Hopefully he will bring his “A” game this week and if he does he is very capable of going close again.
